Cabbage Juice for Weight Loss

Cabbage is an extremely useful vegetable, but cabbage juice is even more useful, as it is rich in minerals and vitamins. Low-calorie cabbage juice is particularly useful for weight loss.

If you decide to lose weight, be sure to include cabbage juice to your diet. The peculiarity of this low-calorie food product is that it is able to inhibit the process of turning carbohydrates into fat, which is very important in case of obesity.

To keep the cabbage diet both green-headed and red-headed cabbage can be used. For weight loss take cabbage juice throughout the day half an hour before a meal.

Making such juice is rather simple; you need to remove the upper leaves and put the cabbage head in slightly acidic or salted water for 10 minutes. Then rinse the cabbage, cut it and squeeze the juice. Despite the fact that this juice has practically no taste, don’t add any salt or sweeten it. You can keep the juice in a refrigerator, but not longer than a week and only in an enamel or glass ware.

Thus obtained cabbage juice can be used both independently and in combination with other vegetable juices, as well as with milk and milk products.

It is important to know that the greatest number of nutrients can be found just in the upper leaves of cabbage and its stalk, so, for example, these parts of cabbage contain 30 times more of carotene. The cabbage-stump also contains more vitamin C and sugars than other parts of cabbage. However, it is the upper leaves and cabbage-stump that accumulate a maximum amount of pesticides harmful for the body.

Of course, the maximum amount of nutrients is contained in the recently depressed cabbage juice, so, like potato juice, it should be drunk immediately after preparation, since over time the juice loses its medicinal properties. To soften the taste of cabbage juice, you can add a few drops of fresh lemon juice in it.

Some nutritionists recommend drinking one or two glasses of fresh cabbage juice a day, instead a breakfast or a lunch. According to them, this way you can increase alertness, neutralize harmful substances that enter the body with food, and to withdraw the toxins accumulated in it.

If you dilute the cabbage juice, use cooled down boiled water, usually in combination of 1:1.

It is also important to know that using the juice as a medicine or arranging "fasting" days on which you decide to eat only cabbage juice, is possible only after consulting a specialist (a nutritionist or a physician).

Cabbage juice is contraindicated after myocardial infarction. Those who suffer from excessive acidity of gastric juice must also take cabbage juice very carefully. If your body reacts to the cabbage juice with increased flatulence, it must be taken in conjunction with carrot juice.
